Default Our Tachs are slow--

When I test drove the stroker a couple of days ago Joe Vinci rode with me with the tech II hooked up to check to see if it was pulling any timing--I WOT from 2K to 6K in third and he noticed how far the tach was behind the actual R's I'm glad I have a shift light and even happier about having a rev limiter--my blower motor revved even quicker no wonder I would hit the limit when I didn't think I should have, Joe told me their nos c5 did the same thing so I don't know if this happens in a more or less stock setup (are there any out there, oh you must have just bought it) but on the more powerful motors this may be a very common occurance--did I spell that right, hell we need a spelling checker on this thing-I've grown helpless without one--

That's good to know. I have also noticed that the HUD display seems to lag behind the dash tach! I wonder how far off the HUD is then?

I happens on my bolt-on special, even more so now that I have an aluminum flywheel. I thought it was just the tires breaking loose! :D

Well like I said it makes you glad you have a rev limiter--I havn't noticed the diff in the hud and dash i will have to check it out--just what I need one of those big chrome tach's mounted in my car for gods sake--I wonder if there is an upgrade for the sending unit--I think my shift light is right on however that is a saving grace as well---

I've noticed the same thing. Thank goodness for my harlan shift light. I hit the limiter a lot more before I got it. :yesnod:

After I turbo charged my last car I could get almost 1k ahead of the tach by redline(6250) in 1st.

We installed a 5" Autometer with a shift light to keep up with the revs. The stock tach was way behind in most gears.

I've got the same setup, when the blower was in it revved way fast and no way the tach was keeping up, I guess the only thing they are really good for at this point is to check your idle--
