Oil Burning Paranoia
My 99 is getting up there in miles (31k) and I am becoming paranoid about the possibility of having the infamous trouble with the piston rings. So far it has been perfectly fine but being the **** retentive person that I am, I am always on the look out for possible signs of trouble. Does anyone know if this was a big probllem on the 99s?

Relax... it would have been burning oil a long time ago if there were defective rings. It mainly was a problem in 01. Some oil consumption is normal. GM made the top end a bit loose which reduces friction and increases power. The down side some oil consumption. I have a 99 and add 1/2 quart between changes.
