Default Header Install Question

I'm planning to do my own header install this Spring and am wondering if the majority of popular headers are a direct bolt up to the stock cats or is there any fabrication / welding / cutting involved? I know the topic has been beaten to death but would appreciate your comments. I want to go with the highest quality stainless steel with Ceramic Coating. If you guys have suggestions as to which brands are the best please let me know. I'm looking at Stainless Works, LG, TPIS & SLP. After the headers are on and I see how loud the interior is, I'll consider the x pipe and HF Cats.

Thanks

SLPs are a pain to install, pass on those. LG's I dunno, Im still waiting for parts, but they SHOULD be just bolt on. FLP's are totally bolt on,easy install (see here: http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=17 ). TPIS require welding.

Pretty much if it comes with an Hpipe it is bolt on with no welding needed.

We have installed several sets of the satainless Works system and they were a snap to install and they sound great.

i also opted to install my headers & went with tpis long tubes they fit like a glove & there is NO welding required i used c clamps to tighten everything down they work great & when i wanna take them loose i dont have to grind welds off to get them off .I loosen up the clamp & thats it .I cant speak for the rest of the headers but i do know the tpis headers are a easy fit & i have put on headers on mustangs & these headers are a picnic in the park compared to what i have use to be putting on

With the FLP or TPIS ,what about the cats? They will bolt right in to the factory cats?

Do they go in from the top or bottom for those who did NOT unbolt the motor?

This is great! if they fit this well, and require no welding and use the cats it is a no brainer on if to do it or not!

Did the FLP Longtubes w/ hi flow cats recently and it was a fairly easy install (on a 4 post lift) Hardest part was the O2 sensors. Also put on Borla Quad tip Stingers and the whole set up sounds incredible. FLPs match right up. Total time (including beer consumption and bathroom trips) about 5 hours.
