The weakest link are the stock rod bolts. Once these are replaced you should be good to 500+HP depending on application. Detonation will kill your stock pistons though, so if boosting best to go forged up front if possible.

CFI LUZ hit it on the head.
Rods and crank will handle a lot of abuse.
Head bolts are weak and then the pistons are not great for FI applications.

Also pre 2001 rod bolts are only good to around 6200 rpm's reliably.
