Default LT header instal - welding or not?

Hi Everyone!

I have been following several recent header install threads and are rather confused about the Long tubes install and any welding that may be needed. I have the factory CATs and a magnaflow X pipe. I want either FLP's or TPIS headers and I want to keep the factory CATs. Do I need to weld to install either of these headers?

I am sure I want Long tubes, I have an upcoming Magnusson install that will benefit greatly from them. As always, your help is draining my cash and I could not be happier :jester

The TPIS will need to be welded. There is slip pipe that slides into the header side and gets welded to the cat side. Any muffler shop should be able to hndle do this.

As far as I know, the FLP exhaust system is the only one that does not require welding. This is because their system replaces just about everything to the catback.

Or you can replace your factory cats the easy way and purchase a system w/ high flow cats. The new Dynatech's come with everything you need to replace everything except the mufflers. Also, TPIS and Kooks all have complete systems that replace everything from the over axle tubes forward and require no welding. Chris.

THANKS Everyone!! If was not chicken I would just delete the CATS :D , However it looks like I am doing High flow CATS. I guess I will need to sell my magnaflow X pipe ,as the systems I have seen come with X pipes already

Just need to get these ordered and installed before the Spring Skyline Drive Cruise

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!! :auto:

FLP's are plug and play, bolt right in. They provide everything in their kit.
