Which stall TCI converter should I get?
Okay here is the deal.........I sold my PT2400 because most people on here told me it would be a waste to install 3.73 with that low stall converter. So no I need your input (quickly) on what converter would be the tightest, best street-strip converter for me. I dont want dead spots in acceleration and I dont want to turn the tires over every time I take off.
I HAVE to order the converter TODAY so please let me know what you think if you have had experience with TCI converters. Also how can TCI offer a converter (even custom stall) for $429 and Yank, PT, PI charges so much more?

So you are saying that TCI is not a good converter? I should get Yank or Vigiliante? Didnt really understand? Dont understand torque multiplication? I know I am dense and selecting this converter has been much more of an issue than I thought.:banghead:

I would recommend a TCI 3500 stall. We've gone low 10s with a TCI3800 and 10.7s with a 4400, stock cubes, N/A. I'd say that TCI will work just fine. They have great converters and customer service!
Re: Which stall TCI converter should I get? (ccajun4real)
Very few guys run TCI converters on this forum. However they are popular with the f.body guys on the LS1Tech.com forum. I have not heard anything bad about TCIs converters, but if I were you I would do a search or post on the LS1Tech forum and ask what they think of TCI converters.

Tci has been around since 1963 and are in all your performance parts mags., I don't think they would still be around if they sold junk. Plus call their tech support and you will hear some great support and real informative information. Not to bash Yank, but do they have to devote a hole web page to saying how much better they are since they already have a good rep. Brian has been real cool every time i've called him at texas-speed. I'm almost got my funds together to order my converter Brian and will call probably wednesday.

YEP, that is what I went with TCI 3500. Just wanted to say that Brian was the most helpful person I have ever dealt with of any vendor on here. I know he was busy as hell and still took the time to answer every little question I had. Customer service goes along way :yesnod: I also called TCI Inc. to ask them about the converter choice and that guy took almost 20 minutes helping me. I really like this company and Texas speed gets my vote for most helpful vendor..............I will be getting my cam and headers from these guys as well    :flag :flag
