How about a high G corner. Plenty of people have starved the bearings because they were taking a long high G corner and weren't running an extra quart of oil in the pan.

Hi, I'm not sure what caused the failure. Typically the crank "touches" an area on a bearing, there is heat build up due to friction, and the bearing fails. Of course if you run the engine without oil for whatever reason then the chance for failure goes up. The situation you describe is running it without oil special circumstance. My question is if you buy an engine with a known spun bearing failure should you line bore it on general principal? Thanks
