airbag shut off

can an airbag cutoff switch be intalled in the 99 C5 like my 2000 had???? Anyone do this?

Yes it can. You can buy the kit from GM, which includes all the wiring, etc., plus a replacement seat belt for the passenger side. I have one that I was going to install on my '99, but I'm going to sell the car instead. If you would like, I could send you a pic of the kit and parts, etc. Drop me an EM this evening if you want.

that's a surprise, I learn something new everyday on here. I thought they all had the shut off. I have a Y2K vert, and my kids love going for rides .

They started adding the shut off switch in the middle of the '00 model year. I added the GM switch to my '99. If you are going to add a switch use the GM kit. In addition to the switch it also includes a new passenger seat belt (yes, they are different). I also added the center panel from an '00+ (ordered from Fitchners) for a finished look. If you plan to add the new light pannel be sure to add a resister in line because the light on teh pannel operates at a different voltage then the light that comes with the kit....and the light bulb will blow if you don't use a resister....and the bulb is not replaceable.
