Default Those with magnetic shocks

What do you thnk about them? Is there a difference between the modes? Is sport mode better than the stiffer shocks? Is touring mode more comfortable than regular shocks??/ Seems to me that this techn ology should give results better than the Z06 and the base Vette at the extreem settings???? Thoughts? Worth the money? Thanks

If you do a search, you should find the Car and Driver, or other publication analysis of the F55, Z51 and Z06 Suspension packages. F55 offers as comfortable a suspension as any, sport mode is comparable to Z51 but not upto Z06 performance. The components that contribute to Suspension comfort and performance include the shocks of course, but springs, sways and tires. I'm running Hotchkis Sways with F55 and still have a noticeable diference between Sport and Touring modes. Biggest comfort-performance deficiency is the OEM run-flat tires. I'm going to try the Z06 springs for a little tighter balance, but there is some concern about defeating the MSRC sensitivity with such a stiff spring-sway combo.

GM is not offering MSRC with other Z51 options even for 2005, so they seem to think that these are mutually exclusive suspension options. I'm convinced that they should offer an F55-Z51 combination suspension. Don't overlook the coil-over shock-spring suspension offered by some including LGM as a comfort-performance aftermarket supension option. One more thing on F55: some (including master mechanics) believe that a car with magnetic shock should not be lowered due to the permanent compression of the shocks and the potential failure associated with this condition. Many have lowered w/o problems...yet. Good Luck!
