I had some HIDs install on my car yesterday, but here is the funny thing. While I never really looked at the alignment of the headlights before now if the low beams are aligned the high beams are out of alignment and vice versa. My old g/f had the same lights installed on her 2002 over the summer and her alignment was just fine. Was my car just goofed up or what???
I had this same problem when I changed the 9006 (low beam) bulbs to Sylvania aftermarket bulbs. I think the bulbs were not quite in the socket properly. This past weekend I installed a 9006 HID system and had a terrible time getting the Sylvanias out, even though they are supposed to just twist out! The new bulbs fit in just fine are seem to be aligned with the halogen high beams.
I would check the bulbs and make sure they twist in/out easily. If not, they could possibly be installed in the sockets crooked.

:iagree:
I had the same problem. I thought the bulbs were installed correctly but on checking they were cocked in the housing

Thanks guys, when I get a chance I'll check to see if the lights are seated properly!
What is the proper method for aligning the head lights anyway?
Is there a distance you should park from a wall and then try to line them up at a certain height?
I have the service manuals and it spells out exactly how to do it. It involves parking 25' away from a wall, car on a flat surface, less then ½ a tank of gas and then certain landmarks measured on the way to be your guide for alignment. for me I'm just eye-balling it based on my friend's headlight alignment on the same wall in a garage.
