I'm planning on putting a cam in the car first and later doing the heads. I know it's probably cheaper to do it all at once but the bank account says different. I was just wondering what kind of prices you guys are finding on just doing the heads?
Texas speed, also a supporting vendor just put out some great prices on heads cam packages, aroung 2k or so for everything. cam, pushrods, springs, heads, gasket kit... etc They are up in Lubbock, but i but they could do it all in a couple of days, maybe you could catch a Tech game and get away for those longhorns :jester
Im not sure it is really going to be much more expensive to do the heads later, unless you need to replace all the valve springs on the stock heads for the cam you are using.
Most of the work is not duplicative.
For the heads the cold air, aternator, coil packs, valve covers, rockers, and push rods are the only parts that I can think of which need to be removed for both jobs, and that should only be about an hour of work for someone who knows what they are doing.
