just installed dual ram intake on my 97 and now the check engine light keeps coming on . When we pulled the codes p0171 & p0174 - fuel trim stystem lean bank 1&2 came up what do I need to fix this problem and will it hurt the engine running it this way???
Re: Changed some things and codes came up (PaC5_CHICK)
Sounds like you have an air leak somewhere. double check all you're couplings and your wiring that you unplugged to instal it also. make sure everything is together good and tight.
Also, I wouldn't drive it like that. You probably have un-metered air getting in after the MAF Sensor, which would also be un-filtered air...that wouldn't be good
Re: Changed some things and codes came up (Flyin'Brian)
the copler behind the mass air flow sensor was loose tightened it when I brought the codes up first time there was a HC after it (history and current) after reconnecting the copler the codes read p0171 H no C so cleared the codes and light went off and stayed off now for 10 mintues so I will check it again in morning TY for your help may need more tommorow
Re: Changed some things and codes came up (PaC5_CHICK)
When changing airboxes the check engine light comes on once you start it up. You need to cycle the car (start it, drive it & shut if off) a few times and it will go away. If it doesnt, then it is time to start looking for problems.

actually, the 160 thermo is not for a stock car... for best performance leave in the stock thermo. For High temp areas or S/C applications the 160 is suited best. :yesnod:
