Been reading about mods, seems that a LS6 intake used in conjuunction with a new exhaust will give the biggest bang for the buck. First, what is a LS6 intake? Second, how much of a HP gain can be expected with it and a exhaust? :auto:

Re: LS6 Intake (Sixgun95)
LS6 intake won't give you much or will an exhuast on a stock motor. Cam is the best bang for the buck. A cold air intake is good too. I have the ProFlow form the Vette Doctors.
If you have an 01 or newer C5 your car already has an LS6 intake. If you have an older internally stock C5 you will gain little or nothing installing an LS6 intake. A few forum members have installed them on stock engines and have gained no added RWHP. You get the most benefit out of an LS6 intake if you have a cam or heads and cam. Change your exhaust for sound and looks not for performance you will gain only 0 to 8 RWHP in most cases if you swap exhausts. If you have an A4 install at least 3.42 gears and a good high stall T/C. If you have an M6 install 3.90 or 4.10 gears. The next mods I would do is install a cam and headers.

A replacement air intake system is, in my opinion, the best bang for the buck mod on a stock C5.
