So, other than the bore for the TB they are the same size? Have you installed a Fast on a C5? Has anyone, without having a problem with the firewall or vent cowl rubbing the manifold? I just noticed nitrosuzie did. That's good.
Shop noticed a crack on the FAST intake manifold. They believe it happened during their install. So, they are going to try and repair it, but also are ordering a couple for comparison. Everyone says they just bolt straight on, so with the bolts not even fitting correctly it seems like maybe I got a bad intake. Which makes sense after making adjustments for it to fit right, the intake got damaged.
I am waiting to see what they say this coming week before I add my .02. I don't want a repaired intake bolted on my car. I'll keep ya posted.
ONe of the guys I know from another board (And in person) Just installed the LSX intake on his Camaro and had all sorts of trouble with the bolt pattern not being exact... Joe Gaudette is his name and he is very upset... Said he is willing to TRADE his for an LS6 intake to just hog out...
He is over on the LS1tech.com forum, not sure of his user name, but I directed him back to the vendor he got it from... Seems like they would have addressed the fitment issues before going to production...
Being in the middle of my own motor build, I'll go with the LS6, thanks! :seeya
Thanks, Mike! At least I know that there is possibility of a design flaw with the intake. Maybe the 1st batch of intakes wasn't such a good idea. I'm confident that the FAST intake is still the way to go once I get a new one.
