transmission fluid leak
BTW I tried the search first. I have a 2000 auto with the dreaded tranny fluid leak. Not poring out, but enough to notice. One day I had a steady line down my driveway. My question, I assume its the seal. How much for this fix? Out of waranty.

Are you for certain it's the tranny and not the rear differential...?
Tranny fluid would be a lighter red, strawberry syrup.
Diff fluid is much darker if fluids are still GM stock.
Either way, it's gonna cost, especially if they have to dissconnect
the tranny from the diff. If it's just the seal from the pan you might
be lucky.

My '99 leaks the same every time I leave it out of the garage and the temperatures drop below about 35F. It has done this several years now and I have had no problems except that I get spots on the driveway. Once the temperature warms up the leak stops.

thanks, another member told me he ha dthe same problem with cold. rather than panic, i'll top it off and keep an eye on it. :cool:
