I will soon be replacing my factory clutch with a McLeod Twin Street clutch and master cyclinder. I also be installing a Vortech SC and 4.11 differential. After reading other posts about folks with problems with their Slave cyclinder, I wonder if I should go ahead and replace mine while doing the clutch upgrade. If so what slave should I use as a replacement?
BTW - I presently have no problems with my factory clutch which has almost 11K miles on it.
Re: Should I replace the Slave Cylinder too? (2k1vert)
Yes, by all means replace the slave. It appears to be the cause of many people's clutch problems. I had the clutch pedal sticking issue and got my dealership to replace the slave under warranty -- while they were in there I asked them to put in my Spec III clutch w/ aluminum flywheel at a reduced labor rate (since they were already replacing the slave). I think they just put in a brand new C5 slave, not a Z06 slave.
Re: Should I replace the Slave Cylinder too? (diynoob)
I went ahead and ordered one today. While I'm not having trouble and only have 11k miles, I figured $142 for a new one for a piece of mind is cheaper than having to go back into it later. Seems many folks have had issues so hey let experience of others save me a little pain.

I think the part number is the same for a c5 or zo6 slave--when you get it drill the hole out to .125 or 1/8th inch and you should have no sticking clutch problems with your after market clutch assembly---
