How does on replace the battery terminal screw??

How does on replace the battery terminal screw??
the metal on those bolts are so soft i end up stripping the nut
do i just keep twisting and the will come out? (to replace them)
and if its that simple that i can screw a new one in (what brand has the most muscle)

The ends are very sorf. Just get hold of it with some needlenose vice grips & unscrew it. I got some replacements at Pep Boys when I replaced my battery.
