If you have a 2001 or later you already have it. I did it on mine. And got around 10rwhp/14rwtq. So it was worth it for me. I had headers with a large midsection, RT cats, and a ported and polished TB. If you are bone stock, what a respected tuner told me was around 7rwhp and 9rwtq. We also did it on my friends '00. Same improvement there. It seems the more built up the motor, the more gains from this.
Barry; if I remember correctly - the LS6 intake was just one part of the equation. The second part was a larger daimeter MAF. I think you have to do both together to see any measureable gain.
So what are the MAF prices? I have been looking and not anyone has listed a MAF addition as an option with the Updated intake. Maybe I should take the cash and put towards LT's...
Tim did you swap your own carrier (Rear-End)? If I remember correctley you have 3:42's.
I have never seen the MAF/intake package. If you want a larger MAF look up Granatelli. I know they carry them. With my car I just switched to ported MAF ends. I will be doing the Z06 intake swap whenever I get back to Colorado. I have heads/cam/headers so I am hoping to see a better gain then 10 rwhp. Kaley

Mike, I kept my stock MAF and got some gains. You may be correct in that I may pick up more with a larger MAF, but I wouldn't do it without reprogramming the the PCM. I had the Granatelli and lost 10rwhp  .
The 2001+ style MAF meters are between 1/4" and 1/2" larger in inner diameter, which should translate to a little more flow once your engine is modded down the road.
Topic says it. Is the intake swap really worth it? what are the returns on HP/Performance?
I think so. I verified with two local tuners that their testing confirmed increases of 10 rwhp with the addition of the LS6 intake. I didn't bother touching the MAF as the possible performance increase didn't seem to justify the cost.
