Default Shifter

I have a hurst short throw shifter and I am not to happy with it. It is very tight and not very smooth. What other kinds are there? And what is the best kind? :mad

All C5 shifters are very tight and not very smooth. I dunno why.

Some people get used to it (me) and some never do. You can try to cut down your stock shifter a little bit.

:iagree: Has to be the tranny. Put an Eight ball type **** on it - you'll be impressed with the short throw. :D

Have you tuned the shifter with the centering springs? If the shifter is still tight with only the soft outter springs then I suspect that the shifter itself may not be centered onto the shifter tunnel or the plastic ball isn't completely on the shifter's pivot ball.

I use the softest springs on my Hurst. From what I've read on the Forum, most people seem to like the Hurst and I'm not sure that you're going to get any after-market shifter that is going to be any better than the Hurst.
