3.73's factory option?

Hey guys new to this side as I have a 92. Buddy has a 99 cpe 6pd and dealer told him he had a 3.73. Was this a factory option? I thought 3.42 was as high numerically as they went.

There are only 3 rear ratios on a C5......2.73, 3.15, 3.42

If it's a coupe the only choices were 2.73 & 3.15. 3.42 was ZO6 exclusive from the factory. :cheers:

Autos, coupe or convertable, came with 2.73 standard or 3.15 optional

MN6 coupe or convertable came with 3.42

ZO6 with MN12 comes with 3.42.

If your friend has a MN6, coupe or convertable, and it has the factory differential in it, it is 3.42.

The M12 transmission was the Z06 exclusive, the rear ends on all manual trans C5s is a 3.42 from the factory. Z06 or not.

vert or coupe- auto: 2:73 or 3:15
vert or coupe- 6 speed (mn6) 3:42
z06- 6 speed (m12): 3:42

Its not a factory option, but make sure someone didn't do a mod. I have a 3.73 as a mod!

BAM92; have your buddy drive 75mph in 4th gear. Then note the RPM.

It will be around 3650 to 3700 if the 3.73 ratio - and around 3350 to 3400 if the 3.42 ratio (assuming stock rear tire heights).
