Re: stock shifter with Hurst short throw?? (henchmen3)
No problem at all. That is the way my car is set up - Hurst shifter and stock ****. Until you actually shift gears, you can't tell it has the Hurst because it looks totally stock.
Re: stock shifter with Hurst short throw?? (henchmen3)
The only problem I know of is that the Hurst tends to rattle. If you install a heavier aftermarket **** it ends to reduce or eliminate the rattle. You can search the threads and see this all over the place.
Re: stock shifter with Hurst short throw?? (henchmen3)
The only problem I had was getting that fscking T-nut off so I could pull the **** off. :mad
I'm running the stock **** on my Hurst and love it. I've not found a more comfortable **** to use, and I like the feel of the stock ****. The Hurst should have come stock, IMHO, just like the FRC partition should have been stock.

But simply, the **** fits and you can use it.
:iagree: If you do decide to change, the $36.00 MGW **** works great.

I found that my rattle was caused by not getting the key back into the shifter **** properly. It worked loose and the **** was rattling on the end of the lever. Once I got it in properly, my Hurst has performed flawlessly.

:iagree: I put up with that for a while, then finally broke down and got an aftermarket ****. It's actually not that bad and i got the aftermarkt **** more for the look than the rattle. There have been some fixes posted for this problem, something to do with wrapping the shifter with something before you reinstall the ****, but i don't remember exactly what.
