do you have stock exhaust if so & you are running cats u will have a quiet car if you put lg tubes on it .& take off the cats & change the x pipe u my as well take off the exhaust & put on a nice cat back system btw who wants a quiet muscle car .I dont

That's hard to put into words. I had the Corsa Indy's when I installed my FLP LT headers, high flow cats and x-pipe. At idle I don't believe there was much difference, at part throttle slight difference but hardly anything to get excited about, but at WOT I'd say there was a significant increase in the famous Indy "scream". Again still nice and clean just more of the sound I love.
So all I can say is my car is Jeckel and Hyde personality to it right now. I can putter around and now one will notice, but if I get on it's nasty and mean - in a nice way :D

I had 2 tip stingers on my Z06. Now I have the kooks with the cats. I did not want it crazy loud all the time. With the cats its loud when I want it to be.

I had Corsa Indys, and then I added StainlessWorks LT headers & intermediate pipes & X pipe with Random Tech cats. It did get notably louder, perhaps a little bit deeper and fuller, when at higher RPMs, but idle and cruise is still OK.

I put LTs on my 01 A4. You lose the pup cats, and with Corsa Indys it was a lot louder. It was a good loud :D I put LTs, Y-pipe, high flow cats, and Corsas on the Z28, and at WOT you need ear protection.

I'll add my only three modded C5 experiences:
Baseline: My car: Stock C5 w/ Z06 Ti
1.) C5 w/ Z06 Ti and FLP's, FLP Cats = 100% indiscernible at idle, cruise. Perhaps ever so slightly louder at WOT, but I'd be hard pressed to tell.
2.) C5 with Stock catback, FLP's, no cats = louder at idle and cruise, much louder at WOT in the car. Similar sound levels outside the car, but definitely a different sound to it.
3.) Z06 w/ LGM Headers, no cats, GHL catback = extremely loud under all conditions.

I got my LGM LTs en route. Similar catbacks. And the cat delete coming when complete...Metal Matrix for emissions untill then. I want it LOUD. Looks like I've got it.

Thank you everyone for the info. If you are thinking of eventually doing H/C + headers is it better to wait and do everything at once or is it not a lot of extra work to do the headers now and H/C next summer?
