Default FAST 90mm TB

According to Thunder Racing's website, the FAST 90mm TB is $480 and they say nothing about a core.

MTI already received one of these units and I have talkd to a couple people who say they are supposed to get theirs around March 10th. Like someone mentioned, MTI already got 21hp and 18tq UNTUNED from this and a 90mm LSx intake on a 427 motor.

Are LG and TPIS both still planning to charge $650 + a core for a 90mm TB?

Do the TB's incorporate the drive by wire or cable feature?

I don't believe that the 90s that are out there are for the C5. They are all for F bodies.

I was told that the C5 TB was not going to be made by them in the near future.

Thanks

Ya TPIS has one out now. They posted about it on ls1tech.com.

From what I was told, MTI just tried one of the FAST 90mm TBs on a customer's 427 Vette. Maybe I should call them to verify.

They have a part number for the 90 mm TB on a vette. Also Thunder has it on its website.

I should be getting a LG 90 mm tomorrow....

Enjoy - looking forward to seeing your track results from TB, Intake, and the new transmission. Doing anything else right now - high flow cats, etc?

We run Random Tech highflow cats right now. And as a matter of fact Jeff was looking for a shop that will fab up a new mid section for it today. I don't think we will gain much from taking the cats off. I will post the results.....

I can confirm the above as i personally know the owner of the car KUMAR references as were running the exact same MTI 427 C5R based motors and he lives about 1/2 hour from me. Here's the exact thread he posted on on z06.com regarding the throttle body and lsx intake and the power MTI picked just picked up from doing the swap:

I am going to apologize.

After making a few more phone calls, the TB MTI got is from TPIS. Thats the one that made 21hp and 18tq untuned.

No problem............do you know anything about the TPIS TB? Sounds like a great TB to me. Sorry if I missed something, but will that TB work with a FAST manifold?

OK cool. I wasn;t sure if the LSX 90mm Manifold you mentioned was actually the FAST manifold....I need to start reading the "manifold" threads more :D My motor is SCREAMING for that TB and Manifold  Thanks again :)

I saw the FAST manifold and the TPIS TB together at the Corvette/Chevy show in Houston last weekend. A real fine combo. MTI said that they have put or are putting on a couple already. Didn't say about the cost or core? I'd like to see FAST come out with their 90mm to compete with the TPIS and get the price a little better. I'd like to see how it works on a blower motor... :flag

cost is $650 + core according to a thread on ls1tech.com :)

I can understand that making one is a lot of work but I cant see it being much more work than say a BBK 80mm TB which is around $400 and no core.
