Re: Belt Squeak problems - need more ideas (spdnman)
I had same problem- tried everything, took it in and they found a very small antifreeze leak on one of the hoses dripping on a pulley or the belt, after it was repaired I changed the belt and all was well.

I see it says you put on new oem belts give the goodyear gatorback a try.
He also said he took all belts off and still had the noise. So, its not belt noise. I will be anxious to see what he finds, though.
Yeah - ya'll don't seem to be reading the whole thread :). The car still made the noise with no belts installed, so it cannot be belt related. I'm going to check the PVC, as rwj suggested, and see if that might not be the issue.
Gonna be a PITA to find, since it only makes it under very specific, moving conditions. Can't just sit under the car and listen :(

Ok - that is good news, we are getting closer! Please help me clear up a few details. Does the noise happen only fter a clutch action has been performed (right after or during the time you shift or put the clutch in)? Is the clutch strong - does it slip under full throttle at all that you can tell? Has the car been driven through deep flood water? I thought it could happen while standing still - is that not the case?
