Some claim more HP with the X-Pipe, Bassani has a good one, where
it helps a lot is the gurgal and poping sound when you let of the gas.

:iagree: The biggest difference it made on mine was that it eliminated about 90% of the popping and gurling on deceleration. I recommend the X-pipe unless you like the added sounds on deceleration. The X-pipe seemed to smooth the exhause out a little.

Need.. No.. Should you get one? YES.. At least IMHO. I find my car much more enjoyable to drive with the addition of the X-Pipe.
Cheers,

I'm sure she will prefer to ride in a car with substantially reduced popping noise on deceleration. Tell her the x-pipe is for her benefit. : )

Dad just got the Borla Twin Tip stingers installed with no x-pipe. They sound awesome. Very little popping on deceleration (we were both kinda sad about that but oh well). They produce no noise in the car while cruising. I don't think you need the x-pipe.

I've driven one with stingers and no X pipe and it sounded great. I actually liked the back firing noises it made on downshifts.

I whole heartedly agree. I have an '04 Z and after the X-pipe install, the car doesn't sound like it's about to fall apart anymore.
Here's a pic of what I had installed: MagnaFlow X-pipe:
Have fun and be safe and good luck on your decision~!!

Re: Do I need an X Pipe? (TowerMan)
There are two systems that do not need an X-pipe. One is the Z06 Ti's and the other is Magnaflow. While it does stop the rat-a-tat-tat on deceleration, it turns the volume down. The system that needs it most is Corsa. As for HP gain, don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed.

I put a x-pipe on mine and gained hp. The x-pipe also made a diffence in the sound. I would say it is worth it

Re: Do I need an X Pipe? (CAPN17)
The xpipe will also eliminate the motorboat sounding idle on the corsa indy's. I still have some popping on decelleration after the xpipe on my borlas but I love it.
