I'm looking to install a cam... are titanium retainers worth buying? This is going to be on stock heads with 918 springs and probably a TR220/220 .553 cam. TIA!
Re: Are titanium retainers worth the extra $$ (KKu77)
Ti retainers are nice to have but you will not notice a difference if you go with the steel retainers on your 918s. The 918s are a bee hive spring with a small retainer, the difference in weight between the steel and ti retainers is small and you will not notice a difference in performance.

wondering the same,also why a 220 cam & not there 224 cam ?
I'm trying to keep it as close to stock characteristics as possible since it's a daily driver. Don't want too much lope or for it to be louder... it's already loud enough with the FLP's and corsa's
Re: Are titanium retainers worth the extra $$ (KKu77)
I have the Titanium retainers in my car and I relied on A&A to do the work.I also have the Comp Cam 220/220E-XR installed in my car.The car idles ALMOST like stock.Just a ever so slight lope, not really noticeable. The LP Headers with the GHL Exhaust is rather loud, but most people say it sounds great.I feel that Andy knows more of what is a good combination then most people do so it was his decision to use the above combination and he was correct. :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy
