Air Bag Shut Off
I'm not talking about wives and girl friends here...
My buddy wants to shut off his passenger side air bag.
He has a new best friend, his 1 year old son, who likes daddy's '98 vert.
Problem is the car seat can only be installed facing front.
Is there a way to shut off the passenger side air bag?
Two dealers said no switches are available and did not elaborate on other options.
Is there a dedicated fuse or something that won't screw something else up.

I have a 99 vert and I take my 3 year old son whenever the weather is nice thanks to Ken (Ken Fichtner that is). You can order an airbag cutoff switch for the car (It is vin specific cause it needs to use your key to turn on and off). The problem is getting someone to install it. The kit itself runs about $110.00 BUT noone wants the liability of messing with the airbag. IM me if ya got more questions. Good luck :cheers:

Get the kit from Ken as said above. Then here are instructions on self-install. It is not hard, just take your time and it can be done. http://97vette.com/howto/airbag/index.html
