Default problems with lt headers!

i had my slp lt headers installed (professionally?) at an exhaust shop about 3 weeks ago. yesterday ,at a stop light , smoke poured into the cockpit and out from under the hood.i puulled over and checked it out ,couldn,t find anything so i thought maybe i melted a plastic bag or something . started it up again and about 30 seconds later the brakes went soft and flames were on the drivers side below the steering linkage. good thing i was only 1 block from home and drove like hell to my driveway and grabbed the garden hose and put it out. yeah for emergency brakes! the mechanic didn't notice ? that the steel brake lines were sitting directly against the headers down low on the drivers side. the heat and vibration put a hole in both brake lines and sprayed brake fluid on the headers.anyhow there is no fire damage as it was the brake fluid burning and i just need 2 steel brake lines , fluid and bleed the lines.

It's a good idea anytime a mechanic works on your car to double check what he's done. These guys are often working on deadlines or trying to beat the allotted time for jobs, so bolts often don't get completely tightend and lines reconnected. I've occasionally found a tool sitting under the hood, and if the mechanic was a good guy, I've returned them. It's your car, so double check the work! :smash:
