Allows a 2001 MAF to be used in 97-00 cars with a harness that combines the IAT into the MAF in 1, 5 wire harness.. Looks nice...
PACE says its ALREADY calibrated for a 97-00 Vette, and all I need to do is install it & go.. My LS-1 Edit tuner, says he has to switch the MAF tables to a 2001+.
Re: Pace performance MAF for LS1-LS6 conversion. (Mike TexaSS)
Slight mistake by me on my part.....
You only need to change the tables IF you get an UNcalibrated one.....
(Which they also sell, with their adaptor harness, but if you have a 97-00 read below........)
In any event, MMarquez told me this:
"you can NOT copy the tables from a 2001. Those tables are larger (i.e. have more entries) than the tables from a '98. I looked at that originally to see if it was possible but it will not work..
Re: Pace performance MAF for LS1-LS6 conversion. (YO-EL)
I replaced my 00' 3 wire MAF with the SLP Z06 MAF (2001 and up). It came with a 5 to 3 wire adapter also.
Now that I have LS1 Edit, I am converting it to 2001 and up status. I've replaced the intake manifold (01 Z06), air bridge (the molded piece with the crossflags in it), and adapted the IAT sensor to the MAF. It now has a full 01 and up intake tract. I just desoldered the resistor and inputed 02 descreened values into Edit. I also rewired the the IAT sensor into the MAF, soldered all the connections, and wire loomed everything to look completely factory.
SLP modifies the MAF sensor to work with 00' and down systems by taking a stock GM 85mm sensor and soldering a resistor onto the wires inside. Depending on the years, they have different resistor values, 97-98', then 99-00'. I would presume, Pace does the same thing. EDIT Since I bought mine, things have changed, SLP only offeres one now for 98-00' cars
I would only change the values in Edit if the MAF in an uncalibrated unit from Pace.
97 and 98 cars have smaller tables on the topend, 99-00's are missing some at the very low end of the flow (like below idle speeds).
IMO, for a 99-00 the NON-recalibrated maf is the right way to go, with LS1 edit programming. The recalibrated one is fine for those who those who cant change the table, but its not the optimal solution. The recalibrated mafs aren't exact, they are just close. Everybody will feel a little different about this tho.
Re: Pace performance MAF for LS1-LS6 conversion. (YO-EL)
As JMX states, it's all on his site. I used his site to do mine. An 00' won't take the bottom end of the MAF table, but seems to be useless because it's just not their on a 00', where it is on an 01' and up.
