I am installing a set of T.P.I.S. headers should I take the cats of while i'm at it? I am not really worried about emissions since I put less than 5,000 miles a year on the car. I just want the car to sound better. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Yes, you will get a few horsepower by removing the cats, probably on the order of 2-5hp. But it will smell! :U If you drive much with the top off, and get stuck at stoplights, you'll wish you had the cats. You may want to get a set of Random Tech metal matrix high-flow cats. Get a few hp without the smell.
they said is was , but i don't have a odor. with great tuning the smell does not exist................. :nonod:
:iagree:
I've read where forum members have mentiond smelling an odor after cat removal, but I have had my cats off for about 5 months, and I don't smell any odor at all. Maybe it's just a matter of having it tuned properly.
