Does anybody have a picture of these or similar seats in their cars. Over on Z06vette.com the ls1speed.com had a group purchase but no pictures. The seats are about $300 a piece and recline as well for a daily driver.
There was recently a GP on Corbeau Racing Seats on this forum. Unless there is some brand new to the market seat they are offering, the seats that fit in a C5 will not recline.
That was the exact seat I was looking at. The red A4S with the black accents. I want the seat to fit around me like a glove. I'm 5'9" 210lbs with a 33" waist. I noticed on their site its 32-34" waists. If you dont mind me asking where did you get them and what was the total cost for both out the door? Did you get the lumbar option? Any pics? Thanks for chiming in. :flag
The number one problem for me at the track is staying in place with the stock seats. At a recent track event I met a forum member who had a recaro seat (I think it was the speed model) in his Z06 that had adjustable recline. He had it installed by TC Kline, a race shop in the Los Angeles area that deals mostly with BMWs.
I was wondering what bracket are you guys using to mount the Corbeau seats? Can the seat slide forward and back on the bracket? Where does the factory seat belt recepticle mount to? How hard is it to adjust the recline with such a tight fit?
Thanks for any info you can provide. All the manufacturers say their reclining seats won't fit in a C5 but obviously people are making it happen.
Just received my CR1 Corbeau's a few days ago. They do recline, but in our cars that doesnt really matter much anyway.. I bought them with the rails and 4 point harnesses. I'm still trying to figure out where to mount the shoulder belts to back behind the seats. They say not to use the rear bracket bolt locations for this, so I need to find a spot strong enough to support em.. Also, the stock seat belts/retracters need to be removed with this model of seat.. I really like the way these seats look. Just for info though, if you're waist size is larger than 34", they won't be very comfortable as they hug pretty tight on the sides...
By the way, did you get the inflateable lumbar? How much do they run and where can I buy a set. Last question, are those the 6 piston AP brakes that rippue has on their site? I was thinking about getting those as well, how do you think they compare to the Stoptech or Movit set ups. Thanks for chiming in. Love your ride.... :yesnod:
34" waist. This is really geared to your rib cage size. Side bolsters are stiff but they did soften up and allow a little more rib cage room after some use.

Yep, I have the inflatible lumbar and I'm glad I do. Use it all the time. It is available on Corbeau's website. Those are the 6 Piston APs that Rippie sells. The are a moving rotor with a fixed caliper. Transfers less heat to the wheel bearings and works great. I recently bought a used World Challenge vette with Stoptechs, but I think these APs are superior.
Thanks for the great info. How much are the seats with the lumbar if you dont mind me asking? Is there a supporting vendor that offers them? I can only assume since you seem like you race the car with that huge motor the ap's are good. Mine is only a street car but I've always wanted some sick brakes. I promise these are the last of the questions. Thanks again for the invalueable answers. As soon as I can find out where to buy these seats its done :yesnod:
Well I guess i learned something here. I know on the GP the forum recently had the two types of seats offered that Corbeau said would fit were racing seats that didn't recline. I didn't like the seats offered because of the high seat supports which would be bad for a daily driver. Now I am interested again because I see some of the less radical seats will fit. Do you lose any leg or head room with the Corbeaus? Important thing to know if you are 6'5" and my helmet barely clears now.

With the CR1, I actually gained a small amount of head room and leg room is about the same.
I was just quoted $1060 out he door on the CR1's with brackets and lumbar on both seats. This was also including tax of 7.75%. Does this sound like a good deal?
