Hi-amp alternator required?
Just installed Rockford Fosgate subwoofer, 1200w amp RF w/capacitor, and RedTop Optima battery.
Now lights dim on hard subwoofer hits and amp shut down after 30-minutes. Anyone installed a high amp alternator to deal with simliar issues? If so, where did you buy it, how much, and was it a direct swap?

Myself and quite a few others run high output alternators. Mines a 200amp single wire unit. Most others run a dual regulator 150-200 amp units. The only downside to the single wire is the need to disable the "charge system fault" alarm with ls1 edit, or so I've been told. Otherwise with the single or dual regulator setups, it's just a bolt on, plug in and done setup. :cheers:

Bought mine about 5 years ago froma streetwires vendor. BrianW21 bought a externally regulated unit, that looked good from the pics for alot less than I orignally paid. Try a search in the audio/electronics and you'll get some vendor #'s
