Lesson learned - hard starting
Over the course of this winter, I've been having a little trouble cranking my motor. Sometimes it'd start right up, and sometimes I'd have to do a mini-crank, and then it would start instantly on the second crank. I thought it was because it was soo cold, and I noticed other people had been having troubles, so I thought nothing of it. I also noticed a gasoline smell, but I dismissed that as a normal american v8 smell....don't do that! My fuel filter was clogged and the clog was causing it to leak, and ever since replacing it I've had no problems starting at all!
I also learned to really pinch down the fuel line before disconnecting it; I drenched myself in gasoline. A needle-nose locking wrench worked great...at least it did when I used it correctly!

Glad you found the problem. Sometimes tracking down the source can be frustrating.
