So, after what seems like an age of research, I have decided a supercharger won't work out for me. I wish it would, but...
1) Magnacharger is no good as I don't want a "lumpy hood".
2) Procharger is no good as I'd struggle to get the oil supplied to me in the UK, and the installation seems to be "bugged" (check out the Breathless thread in Forced Induction\Nitrous).
3) Vortech, whilst looking like the perfect match for me, appears to be not good due to reliability issues. I've spoken to a few vendors who just told me not to do it as I'd end up taking it off.
Strewth!
I have approx $8100 to spend on making my car very fast. This has, however, got to fit within the following (harsh) limits.
1) Must not heavily affect fuel economy. UK fuel prices are nothing short of ridiculous, so my car needs to stay economical.
2) The budget must cover shipping to me in the UK, taxes and installation (!!!)
3) The car must be good to be driven every day.
4) Would be better if it didn't need rolling road tuning, as there are NO Corvette tuners in the UK.
5) Can't be something that will run out (Nitrous!).
Can anyone help me out? I'm really stuck here. I realise these limits are harsh, but that's what I've got.
H/C set up from LG.
LS1 edit...LG can give you a tune based on your setup from a comparable car they've done...It'll get you close.
LT headers.
Underdrive pully.
New intake.

Which vendor told you this???
I spoke to a few of them - don't wanna mention the names in case I get them into trouble, but two of the vendors I spoke to actually stated that not only would they not recommend the system, but they would not install the system at all and no longer carry the item.

:iagree: This is probably your best bet. Even better if you can do your own labor. I just had the LG cam installed in my car and my gas mileage just went up by 6 mpg on the highway. :yesnod:

:withstupid:
I have an LG G5X2 cam, my gas mileage is pretty much the same unless my right foot gets heavy.
I believe Lou will even do tuning for you, obviously a dyno tune would be ideal, but if he knows exactly what mods are done to the car the tune should be so close you'll never notice the difference.
From what I understand the idle on the newer cams is even better than mine, but I don't have any issues with driving mine all the time.
