Tac only works on initial start-up....help please...
The tachometer on my car is not working. When I turn the key initially, it goes to the redline and then comes back down to zero (same as mph), however, it does not work when running the car. My check engine light is on and the code is the tach. A local shop said the problem was between the actual gauge cluster and the pcm....he said the signal was not being sent.
I believe this car had aftermarket shift lights, etc, so it may be possible the previous owner negated the stock tac.
I would like some theories as to how I can get this working again and if it may be something that should be covered under regular warranty.
