I was checking the codes on my car today and noticed the B2172 Seat Front Up Switch Shorted to GND code. It was a history code. Everytime I reset it I felt the front of the seat move up some and the code would come back. If I reset it a few more times, the same thing happened until the front of the seat was tilted the the max, then the code wouldnt come back. So I moved the seat back to mem 1, and the code was back.
Noticed also that in trying to til the seat pos switch up, instead of moving the seat up, it moved it back.
Do you guys think the switch could be bad or could it be something else>
BTW this is Kelly's husband (JWA95TA) typing this, I forgot my login password, and just wanted to get this post on up here.
I would also check the wiring for the switch - especially since it sounds like it works when the seat front is all the way up - maybe wires have been rubbing agains the frame somewhere? If you have a multimeter you should be able to check for shorts to ground.
