Exhaust combo?
Here's the question. I've been reading alot of the posts about LGM Long tubes, FLP's, Dynatech's, and TPIS headers. Although I appreciate everyones posts, it gets really confusing to pick out fact and opinion so I'm trying to be as objective as I can in what I need. I want to get as much DRIVEABLE HP AND TQ with little to no change in sound while cruising, below 3000 rpm. But when I drop the hammer I don't particularly care how loud it gets. The more small children I scare back into the house the better.
The car is completely stock and the first couple of mods I've decided to do Long Tube headers and an aftermarket intake, probably a Veraram or Blackwing. A buddy of mine is willing to sell a set of used TPIS headers for fairly cheap, but the more I read the more LGM's, Dynatech's, and Kook's appeal to me. I've read a couple of posts where the LGM's are LOUD all the time but I haven't heard much about the Kook's and Dynatech's "LOUD" factor.
Also which is a good cat back system to get to my goal. Mind you I'm not into "LOUD" all the time, just when daddy needs to burn in an impression.
I'm look'n for a deeper, smoother, sound with an off throttle burble. So with all this to chew on what's the best combo for me. Corsa with KooK's, B&B's with LGM's, stocks with Dynatech's.
I'm up in the air on what do do and would appreciate alittle insight into everybody's experience.
BTW, in the fall I'll be doing a head and cam package so the headers will need to work with them aswell.
Thanks in advance.
Rich. :steering:
I've got Stainless Works LT headers, Random Tech Hi-flow cats, X-pipe, and a GHL Magnum 2-Tip exhaust. Very throaty idle, just loud enough to hear the exhaust when cruising at 70, decidedly rude at WOT.
Want off-throttle burble? I've got it in spades. :D
