I've got the wheel off and wanted to check if the right wire is tapped into for the shift light coming out of the computer. Any pics or explanations. It's presently tapped into a white wire, but the light does not work.
Thanks,
JB
Re: Quick Question on wire for Shift light... (Flyin'Brian)
Thanks for the link Buddy, but my red harness is plugged in towards the inside of the car and there is no wire plugged into the #10 pin. :banghead:
Any more help?
Thanks,
JB
Re: Quick Question on wire for Shift light... (jbsblownc5)
I agree with Brian but if you can use a meter to measure the wire response to revs, you should be able to see if the correct one has been tapped and you just have a bad connection. It's such a delicate wire that the splice may not be good. If your tach is working then obviously it's not a bad/broken wire. I'd check to make sure it's the correct wire first before proceeding.
Re: Quick Question on wire for Shift light... (jbsblownc5)
I just installed mine today and the instructions were for 2000 and newer so something is different. I did the #10 white wire on the "red" side and it works fine.
Does the light go on at startup? If not, it could be a bad ground or bad connection to the "hot" wire near the fuse box.
