I'm getting ready to install steel braided brake lines and I need to know if there's any special proceedure I need to use to bleed the system after the lines are installed. I was told that since there is a anti-lock system there might be a special proceedure to use that ensures all the air is bled from the system. Also I purchased speed bleeders to make bleeding the system easier and what brake fluid is recommended vs. the stock stuff? :steering:
As long as you do not let the Master Cylinder go dry you will not have to worry about the ABS unit. If the Master Cylinder goes dry and you get air in the ABS unit then you need a GM Tech 2 to activate the ABS so it bleeds itself.

:iagree: Just minimize the fluid loss and you will be fine. Changing the lines shouldn't take long and you should be able to keep the MC from leaking down. :yesnod:
I left mine disconnected overnight while I had my calipers off for painting and had the SS lines on and pointing upwards so they wouldn't leak down. I had no problem with the system leaking down that way.
Here's a picture of one of my SS lines pointing up to avoid leakage.
