help!!! stupid auto headlights

help!!! stupid auto headlights
does any one know how to disable auto-on headlights (canadian model) so the option is always on . cannot be shut off in options mode in dic. dealer says its in body controller but replacing it wouldnt work as it would be flashed to match original sick of looking at such a beautifol car way before dark with huge pie plates protruding from hood please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HMM, Read on... Saw a post yesterday about same problem. That member made up a couple of jumper wires and removed relays.... Don't remember particulars, but there is a couple of posts on her re: your issue...

Yes it is in the menu, under options, turn twlighlight to OFF. I think this is what you mean. Mine would pop up sometimes and I got sick of it, turn the twighlight to off and they will stay down until you turn them on yourself :D

Do you mean from the OPTIONS button in the dash? Mine doesn't have that in the menu selections.
I use the hand-brake trick that I had read on the forum a while back. Before you put your keys in the ignition... pull the hand-brake up just one click. I don't think that harms anything... just tricks thes car and gives you full control from the light switch (off/on as you please). But if anyone knows an easy way to disable the automatic pop-up feature... let us know.

finally someone else with a canadian car no-one believes me that the option isnt there to turn off twilight. i will try the parking brake thing thanks

While Canadian cars appear to have it as a mandatory standard feature, I would think that it would still be an option as far a Tech2 is concerned. If that is the case then a Tech2, which a dealer should have, should be able to turn it off.
