I could use some input on cam selection for Solo II and Solo Trials ,AKA SCCA time trials. It will still be a frequent driver so I don't want any bad habbits and I think good low end and mid range makes the most sense but it should be strong accross the range as Solo trials is done on road coarses with longer straites.
The engine setup will be Z06 manifold, Vortex, 85 mm MAS, big CF air bridge, ported TB, Stage II heads, Kooks LTH's with cats, X pipe and Corsa Touring CB. Any suggestions would be appreciated. :steering:
Depends on how you define bad manners, and whether you will have access to PCM tuning.
If you stick to a duration of 220 or so, your driveability should be OK, mileage & emissions too. With LT headers, stick to a straight pattern grind (intake/exhaust same duration). A good choice would be the Thunder Racing T1 cam, which is around 220 duration, on a 112 LSA. It will lope a little, but produce good power.
pick your cam and application first and have your heads built around that selection. Buying heads with a certain flow and picking a cam that does not match that flow is a waste of time and you can actually lose hp from what I am told. Find someone who does this for a living to help you.....not people who have an opinion with no guarantee of knowledge. Just my .02 and by the way....I do not make a living give performance advice on C5's! :smash:
