Just installed the Kooks headers/cats/crossover pipe. At initial start-up I get "service vehicle soon" and PCM code P1637H C. I know it's listed as "Gerator L-Terminal Curcuit." What do I look for? Thanks, Chris.
BTW, I installed a large cam a couple weaks ago and haven't had any other problems yet and it hasn't been tuned yet.
Check the connections on your alternator, I'm assuming you removed it to install the headers?
The service manual says to turn the key on and leave the engine off, then disconnect the harness at the alternator and measure voltage from the "generator turn on signal circuit" and ground.
The wire your looking for is red (and this is in the connector that unplugs not the big red wire thats all by itself) and you should be able to read 5 volts.
If it doesn't show 5 volts then the next step is to check to see if it's shorted or open and then from there it has you check the connections at the generator and the PCM.
If this doesn't help, E-mail me (rjgroth@aol.com) and I'll copy this and get it to you.
Thank you! Bad news is...I found the problem and it was incridibly stupid. I forgot to put the belt back on when I first turned on the ignition. No code now. :bb :bb
