Installed a HID headlight kit into a 2001 ZO6. Kit calls to use the stock lowbeam connections to be plugged into the ballast for the HID (proper polarity required) which leaves the stock high beam plugs not used. After the install the headlights work fine, open fine (actually had a problem getting the left to light off- was just a low battery) but will not close. I can hear the Headlamp Control Module buzzing very faintly. When I plug the stock lights back in, everything works fine. The instructions that came with the kit are very incomplete and worthless- they certainly do not address this issue. It seems the control module is looking for a certain impedence from the low beam connection (doesnt matter if high beam connected or not-doors work fine as long as stock headlamp on the lowbeam side is connected). My AllData diagrams are quite worthless, too. Anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance.

I have that problem too. First I turn off the lights then I put the lever to high beam & the lights go down. Don't forget to put the lever back to its normal position (low beam)

Same here, just use the high beams to shut them off and click them back to low when they are shut. Or call the manufacturer, there is a capacitor(I think) that you could put in line to correct the problem(not really a problem).
Re: HID headlight install- headlights wont close (Corvette4ever)
We've seen this alot with HID setups. The only ones that didn't do it are the G-Garage balasts and they are out of business. If you follow Corvette4ever's advice of putting it on the high beams and then shutting down, it should work every time.

yup, simply toggling the high beams on the switch closes the doors. I'd still be interested in the resistor value to put in series with the circuit if anyone has that.
