I Have the same problem. I believe the turn signal light bulb is burned out and that is what is causing this. Turn the signal on and have someone take a look. Also, there was a good thread a few months back about easier ways to change the bulb if it is burned out.
OK guys. I have the same issue and changing the bulb did not help. At first it was erratic but now it is permanent. The turn sigs are built in to the hazard control module which I think is immediately behind the hazard switch in the top center dash. Is there anything I am missing here or is time to buy a hazard control unit and tear apart my dash? Thanks.
The blinker assy. itself might be bad. In the old days it was under the dash.
Plug and play like a fuse. I'll look around and see if I can locate it...

This has been the case with severl member's cars here. In addition, there was a GM recall dealing with the hazard swithch failure that did not include the C5.
