Default Periodic Passenger Side Heater Malfunction

On occassion the right side of the dash heater vents will pour out heat while the left side is trying furiously to cool the car to the 70 degree auto setting. Fortunately this malady happens quite infrequently. The dealer said he couldn't help unless I drove the car into the shop when it was in this malfunction mode. I can never make it to the dealer when this is happening because the remedy seems to be to shut off and then restart the car. Evidently resetting the computer corrects the problem. Has anyone experienced the same problem and is there a fix? (A 2001 convertible)

You didn't say what year your C5 was- I'd be interested- My 2000FRC has the same problem- and I just shut it down and start it agian- But somewhere within this forum was a post expalining something about a complete "relearn" for the computer that might "teach" the computer to overcome this. sorry I can't be more specific- if you find it let me know.
