I just put these in my '01 over the weekend.
Anyway, to answer your question, they come pre-gapped to .057" which is suitable for non-modified engines IMO.

Mine came with a gap of .050 which the books call for the NGK.

Someone had the same question and he swears by .040 he said his car ran "noticeably" quicker and shifted smoother. People argued the .050 setting was best, but he said his old plugs were set to .040 when he took thme out. I don't know...I have an '03 C5 and need to start looking myself. Try and find the other thread...I'm looking for it too. I think it was "My wife's opinion on new plugs"? Good luck. :cheers:
