Quick question for those with Kook's mid-pipe (or that know about them)

Quick question for those with Kook's mid-pipe (or that know about them)
In the midst of all the disscussion about primary size, folks haven't said much about the Kooks mid-pipe options.
I have tried to find some pictures, but I have only found one set, which shows 3" in and 3" out cats, with a 3" in and 3" out x-pipe, which after a short distance, necks down to 2.5" until the flange that meets the mufflers.
Do all of the Kooks have a configuration like this, or do some of them stay 3" all the way until just before the mufflers?
That far back from the X-pipe, does the neck down to 2.5" have any appreciable impact?
