Does an x pipe really make that muck of a difference?
I am running the corsa indy exhaust now. with a blackwing filter.
What will i gain from this?
Also is the install of the xpipe fairly simple?
Maybe an extra 5 hp, but the sound difference (from what I'm told) is A LOT better. When done with a set of long tube headers, it might be more beneficial.

I don't know if I gained any HP, But I do know It did away with the boat motor idle. It will also mellow out the Indys, give them a more refined sound. :yesnod:

Overall, my exhaust sounds much better, but I also added long tube headers and high flow cats at the same time. I already had B&B PRT's with the Blackwing. I'm so glad the gurgling motorboat sound is gone.
The one thing I'm glad that is NOT gone is the popping on deceleration. I had been told that the x-pipe would eliminate that, but I actually like it alot. Now, the popping has a more authoritative sound to it and is not as high pitched as before.
The only reason for it to make more power would be if cats are eliminated. Because the difference in power between an H pipe and X pipe is 2-3hp up top with a loss in low end of 2-3tq.
Installed the MagnaFlow X-pipe on the '04 S Z and the car not only sounds MUCH better IMHO (no more AWFUL jingle/popping sound) but according to the Dyno, gained 7 HP.

The MAgnaflow I used to have made a huge difference - No popping on decel, and it really mellowed the tone - No hp gain that i know of (maybe a few ponies) All in all I would get another one if I got a new Vette and pipes

It really has no effect except on sound quality, unless your running a header system like Kook's then it become's part of the collector length. :D

I di not have until I got LT headers and then the droning drove me crazy. It is a sound option that most will need when you get LT's someday. Install is a snap...but remember to measure twice and cut once!
Re: X Pipe does it make a difference? (burtonbl103)
Welcome to the forum...
the Xpipe will help with the scavenging of the exhaust pulses, this will smooth out the engine alittle and also help with the exhaust tone... also will help with exhaust pop on deceleration.
The Corsa Xpipe requires you to cut the intermediate H pipe.. two specific measurements.. then the Xpipe slides on and gets clamped .. another good thing is the flanges on your original H pipe.. have been known to break, leak , or crack.. like the corsa system, the corsa X pipe is guaranteed for life..
Re: X Pipe does it make a difference? (burtonbl103)
nascar uses the h pipe on short tracks....and the x on super speedways. it did make my borla stingers sound a lot better. magnaflow for the money is a good deal, well made good fit. don't know about hp.
