Cam degree adjustment with Rollmaster Double Roller timing chain? Help
Ok, getting my cam degree'd in and I am at 105.5 using the intake centerline method and aiming for 108. So by using the 2 degree keys on the crank sprocket, I should be able to bring this to 107.5, half of my 1 degree targeted variance, nice!
Now here's the problem, anytime I am given a 50% chance of getting something right, 99.44% of the time, I go the wrong way! So anyone who knows, help me figure out wich way to rotate the crank sprocket...
So when I pull the crank sprocket back off, should I rotate it CLOCKWISE to the left of center key, or COUNTERclockwise to the right of center key?
Of course I will check it again after, but it would be nice to get it right the first time. I am thinking I should go counter clockwise to retard it 2 degrees?

Sorry cant remember off the top of my head, but I had to do this about 7 times when degreeing in my solid roller, what a PIA. Heres a bump for you, hope you get an answer.

if you want to advance the cam, remove and rotate the crank sprocket CW then reinstall the chain with both sprocket clocking dots lined up on eachother as usual.

Actually I needed to retard the timing 2 degrees, so I was right at first to go Counter Clock Wise. What took forever to sink in was the last sentence on the instructions about NOT using the Standard timing dots if you are using the NON Standard keys. The way they stated it is confusing! Needed to put a new dot the same distance from the key being used as the standard key-dot to timing-dot. Right at 109 degrees now, which is within 1 degree of 108, good to go! Lot of work to get 1.75 degrees closer than where I was, but 2.75 off is too much.
