Default TSB question

I bought my 98 vette used - had it about a year and it's developed a squeak/chirp when I crank it - lasts a few minutes then goes away - very annoying - I found a technical service bulletin that seems to address the problem (idler pulley assembly) - warranty is long gone (69K miles on car) - will I have to pay anything for the work called for in the TSB? :flag

Yes. Recalls would be on GM, but TSBs are notices about non safety issues that MIGHT be a problem. GM would not reimburse the dealer, as the car is out of warranty, so the dealer is unlikely to do the work for free.

You might shop around various dealerships and get a price to do the work. You might also review the Service Manual replacement procedure for a DIY attempt.
